Third Wheel

An extra person who gets in the way is called a third wheel. Here is an example of how this English idiom can be used:

I like your mother; but if she goes out with us tonight, she is going to be a
third wheel.

There is an old saying that
two is company and three is a crowd. This means that a group of two people is preferable to a group of three. The third person is often considered to be a third wheel and that’s exactly what you will see in the following video:
