In the Same Boat

An English idiom that you can use to say that two or more people are in the same situation or have the same problem is to be in the same boat. For example:

The weather was horrible, but that was something that all of the athletes had to deal with.
They were in the same boat.

Being unemployed and not knowing the language, all of the new immigrants were
in the same boat.

Whenever
two or more people share a common situation, problem or experience, you can use the English idiom to be in the same boat. In the following video, you can see a group of breast cancer survivors who are literally as well as figuratively in the same boat.
