Have you ever been in the middle of saying something and then, all of sudden, not been able to remember what it was you were saying? I don’t need to ask this question because it happens to everyone from time to time - to me, it, unfortunately, happens regularly! In English, you can call this losing one's train of thought. Here are some sample sentences using the expression to lose one’s train of thought:

I've
lost my train of thought. What was I talking about?
When the speaker was asked a question, she lost her train of thought.
It’s very frustrating when I lose my train of thought.
